The Experience
Caribbean Kitchen is the private dining experience of Chef Owen Gregory, a Birmingham-raised chef and son of Jamaican immigrants, now based in Caldas da Rainha on Portugal's Silver Coast. Owen cooks the food he grew up with - jerk chicken, curry goat, saltfish fritters, rice and peas - and serves it in your home or villa as a complete, hosted evening.
After 35 years with British Airways, including leading cabin crews on long-haul routes around the world, Owen brings a lifetime of looking after people to Caribbean Kitchen. That experience comes together with his Jamaican heritage and love of food to create private dining that is as much about warm Caribbean hospitality as it is about what arrives on the plate.
Every evening includes a welcome sorrel, two signature rum cocktails and a curated Jamaican soundtrack. Owen takes care of the preparation, cooking, service and clearing away, and each course is carried out and introduced at the table with the story and the culture behind it.
